Features
By choosing Magento as your e-commerce platform, you ensure that the platform doesn't have to be replaced as soon as business takes off. Magento's extensibility is excellent and features can be added without practical limits.
Magento's feature set is already impressive out of the box and can be extended further with extensions. You typically need at least a payment extension for the store to offer Finnish payment methods. Delivery methods also usually require an extension.
Theme
We use the Hyvä theme, which is lighter and faster than Magento's default Luma theme.

Running multiple stores
Magento allows running multiple stores from the same installation - even at completely different URLs. Multilingual stores are also easy to implement, with several technical approaches available depending on requirements.
For example, we have built a Magento implementation where the same installation manages stores for both the Finnish and Swedish markets. Both operate at their own URLs but share the same product catalog. Products can have store-specific prices and each store can operate in its country's currency.
Search engine optimization
One of Magento's key strengths is enabling excellent SEO. Each product can have meta titles, meta descriptions and custom URLs.

Who is Magento for?
Magento is especially suited to companies where the e-commerce store is at the heart of the business: mid-sized and large merchants, B2B sales, wholesale, and international/multilingual commerce. It also fits situations that require significant customization or integrations with other systems.
What does a Magento store cost?
Magento itself (Mage-OS / Adobe Open Source) is free to license. Costs come from implementation, hosting and maintenance, and from any paid extensions. Magento projects typically start from a few thousand euros and scale up based on needs.
What is the Hyvä theme and why do you recommend it?
Hyvä is a modern, lightweight Magento theme that replaces the heavy default Luma theme. It loads significantly faster, improves Core Web Vitals - and therefore SEO and conversion. Hyvä is currently the best choice for new Magento implementations.
Is Magento suitable for B2B e-commerce?
Excellent for B2B. Magento supports customer group-specific prices, catalogs, payment and delivery methods, login-restricted views and complex pricing rules - without separate Plus packages or paid core features.
Can Magento run multiple stores under one admin?
Yes. Multiple stores can be built under the same Magento installation - e.g. for different countries or brands, each with its own URL, language and currency. The product catalog can be shared or store-specific.
What is the difference between Magento 1, Magento 2 and Mage-OS?
Magento 1's official support ended in 2020 and it is no longer recommended for security reasons. Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce / Open Source) is the current version line. Mage-OS is a community-maintained open-source fork that continues the Magento Open Source development in a community-driven way.
Do I need to maintain Magento myself?
Magento requires regular security and version updates. Avania handles maintenance, updates, hosting and ongoing development for you, either hourly or via a monthly retainer.
